City of Brant Lake South Dakota
Welcome to Brant Lake
Nestled in the heart of Lake County, Brant Lake is a hidden gem where small-town charm meets natural beauty. Whether you’re casting a line into our namesake lake, enjoying a summer boat ride, or joining neighbors for a pancake breakfast, Brant Lake offers a peaceful escape with a strong sense of community. With a population of just over 65 in the city, we’re small but mighty—proud of our roots and excited to share our slice of South Dakota with you.
About Brant Lake
Brant Lake spans 1,037 acres and boasts a rich history tied to the brant geese that once flocked here. Today, it’s a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Fish for walleye, northern pike, or bluegill, launch your boat for a day on the water, or simply soak in the prairie views. At a maximum depth of 14 feet, our lake is perfect for recreation year-round—don’t miss the winter ice fishing derby! The Brant Lake Improvement Association (BLIA) works tirelessly to keep our waters clean and vibrant for all to enjoy.
